Stake House Edge & RTP Explained (Dice, Crash, Limbo, Mines)

If you play Stake or Rainbet Originals seriously, the single most important number to understand is the house edge — and its flip side, RTP. Most “strategy” sellers never mention it because it’s the exact reason no betting system can guarantee a profit. We’d rather you understand it, because understanding it is what makes you a smarter, longer-lasting player.

House edge and RTP, in plain English

Every Stake Original has a built-in mathematical edge for the house. On most of them it’s about 1%.

  • House edge = the share of every wagered dollar the casino keeps on average over time. ~1% edge means for every $100 wagered, the house expects to keep ~$1.
  • RTP (Return to Player) = the other side of the same coin. A 1% edge = 99% RTP, meaning ~$99 of every $100 wagered is paid back to players on average.

That 1% is small, but it’s relentless and it applies to every bet, win or lose. Over thousands of rounds it grinds in the house’s favor with mathematical certainty.

Why this kills “guaranteed-win” systems

No bet pattern changes the house edge. Martingale, Fibonacci, “hot numbers,” row tricks — they only rearrange when you win and lose, never the long-run math. A negative-expectation game stays negative no matter how you stack the bets. That’s why we’re blunt that Martingale doesn’t beat the house and why we call out systems that promise it as scams.

So what’s the point of a strategy at all?

This is the honest version most sellers won’t give you: a real strategy can’t beat the edge, but it can control variance — how wildly your bankroll swings on the way to that long-run result. Good bet sizing and a stop-loss let you play longer, lose slower, and lock in wins when they come, instead of giving it all back. That’s the entire value, and it’s a real one. We break down the discipline in our bankroll management guide.

Lower-edge plays

Since the edge is what costs you, sticking to the ~1% games (Dice, Limbo, Crash, Mines, Plinko) and avoiding higher-edge bets keeps more of your money in play. Combine that with disciplined sizing and you’ve done everything math actually allows.

Play the math instead of fighting it.

The All-Access library gives you variance-control systems for every Stake Original — honest tools that work with the edge, not impossible promises against it.

For entertainment only. The house edge cannot be beaten by any betting system — every game has negative expected value and you can lose your entire bankroll. 18+ / 21+ where applicable. Gamble responsibly.
